Confederation of Indian Industry as part of its Manufacturing Panel in line with the “Make in India” Campaign and as a service to the Industry has always been in the forefront to help industry to find ‘New Solutions, Innovative Ideas, understand latest Technology in Manufacturing’, to enhance its competitiveness and build business excellence to compete in the competitive world.
CII has been organizing various industrial visits across the country to grab new ideas and innovative techniques that industries follow. The purpose of taking Industrial Missions is to gain knowledge about the process of work which is undertaken by the industry in today’s modern world with stiff competition.
In this context, I am pleased to inform you that Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Thoothukudi is organizing a Manufacturing Excellence mission to Companies focusing on Manufacturing Practices, Technology, Quality, Customer Service, Employee Engagement & HR practices to Lucas TVS Ltd & Whirlpool of India Ltd on Bus would start from CII, Puducherry State Office, No 1, First Floor, Zamindar Garden SV Patel Road, Puducherry-605012 Mobile - 9688318699. Lucas TVS was established in 1962 as Joint Venture between Lucas Plc. UK and TVS Group, India. Lucas started operations in India from 1930 as Lucas Indian Service for providing warranty and aftersales service to many of the imported vehicles which carried Lucas parts. About : Whirlpool of India Ltd
Whirlpool entered India in the late 1980s as part of its global expansion strategy. It forayed into the market under a joint venture with TVS group and established the first Whirlpool manufacturing facility in Pondicherry for washing machine category.
In 1995 Whirlpool acquired Kelvinator India Limited and marked an entry into the refrigerator market as well. The same year the company also saw acquisition of major shares in TVS joint venture and later in 1996, Kelvinator and TVS acquisitions were merged to create, Whirlpool of India Limited. This expanded the company's portfolio in the Indian subcontinent to washing machines, refrigerator, microwave ovens and air conditioners.
Whirlpool of India Limited headquartered in Gurgaon, is now one of the leading manufacturers and marketers of major home appliances in the country. The company owns three state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Faridabad, Pondicherry and Pune. The one day visit would include a presentation focusing on Manufacturing Practices, Methodology, Employee Engagement & Best HR Systems followed by the respective companies, its uniqueness and the State of the Art Technology used to help compete in this competitive environment and achievements that have brought in to the manufacturing sector. This visit would be followed by a Plant tour and an interaction to understand and build knowledge in their respective areas of work.

- Begin and end with elegance. Numerous psychological studies have shown that our brain tends to remember the beginning and the end of a conversation more than every other word. Make sure your customer support department receives every single call as it was their first one, and ends each call as you would give farewell to a fond friend who might not return for a few years.
This is how it works. There is no magic in keeping customers happy, only flawless execution, especially when a customer arrives with a complaint. A disappointed person is eager to share his experience with others. Make sure you give him a good story. That is the most economical way of creating brand advocates.
